Pimples and Zits is one of the most common skin problems we suffer from and approximately 85% – 90% of people between the age of 13 or 14 years old, through to the age of 25 years old will be affected by Acne.
This means that most of us will suffer from the embarrassment of pimples and zits during our teenage years, which is when we mature and work out who we are as individuals.
During this stage in our life we need as much confidence as possible, because at this point, our Self Image is a huge part of it.
Who Gets Pimples and Zits
Very few people escape the misery and embarrassment associated with getting Acne during their teenage years, but when most acne sufferers hit their mid to late twenties, the condition usually clears up.
A small percentage of people will be unfortunate in the fact that their acne will not clear up, but it will actually get a lot worse and might turn into a Severe Acne Condition.
When it comes to who will suffer, Acne is not very fussy and will unfortunately affect both males and females. Males are more prone to getting Severe Acne due to high levels of Sexual Hormones called Androgen’s. These particular hormones produce an oil to soften and protect your skin, pores and hair, and this oil is called Sebum.
During puberty and your teenage years these hormones make the body produce more Sebum than is needed, and this greatly increases the chance of having problems with Acne.
Pimples and Zits Main Cause
Females also have a chance of getting Acne because of Androgen’s during these years, but the affects are much less due to the lower levels of these hormones produced.
Most females are lucky in the fact their condition will clear up not long after their teens, but unfortunately some will suffer from acne into their late 20’s and even their 30’s.
The oil produced by the body called Sebum, is produced in your pores by Sebaceous Glands These glands are attached to hair follicles inside of your skins pores.
During your teenage years and for the rest of your life these glands will produce Sebum and this is where acne starts.
If a pore in your skin becomes blocked, these oils build up creating a red lump, and you now have pimples and zits.
STOP PIMPLES AND ZITS
If this blocked pore is not cleared, bacteria can get inside and cause an infection, then the blocked pore becomes inflamed and protrudes from the skin. When a blocked pore is infected it can also increase the possibility of blocking more of the surrounding pores.
If this process is not stopped, a few pimples can turn into Moderate Acne, which can then easily progress into Severe Acne. This type of Acne is very difficult to fix, and can leave visible scarring if left untreated.
This can be avoided easily by following a regular skin care regime using quality products when pimples and zits start appearing. It is not hard to look after your skin and will be worth the effort, make a commitment to yourself and you will be rewarded with “Beautiful Clean Skin”.
